The
mineral resource quarried at this mine is high quality silica sand that
is suitable for use in the glass and other industries as well as lower
grades for use as construction materials. The property consists of two
adjoining areas. The first area is owned by the company and contains
approximately 670 acres. Eight acres in this area are currently
permitted with mining., wastewater, and reclamation plans in place with
the county. The estimated sand reserves in this area are 56M tons. The
second area is leased until 12/31/2032 and contains approximately 1,300
acres. The lease rate is $.50 per ton of silica sand with escalations,
2.5% of sales price of other aggregates and 50% of net for all heavy
minerals. This area is adjacent to a Union Pacific rail line and there is
sufficient space for a rail spur. Company has a right of first refusal
to buy this area and the estimated sand reserves on this area are 34M
tons.
